Product of the Week: 420 Skincare Bath Bombs

I traveled recently and after a long day of airports and cabs, I was ready for a relaxing bath. I packed a Pineapple bath bomb from 420 Skincare for the trip and thanked my past self with a happy sigh.

Marvina Thomas, owner of 420 Skincare and Start Living rehabilitation homes, gave me the bath bomb. Thomas is also the Arizona Market Leader of Women Grow.

Having learned to make soaps a little over a year ago, Thomas thought she could simply replace some of the essential oils with cannabis oil and 420 Skincare was born. Thomas expanded her product line to include soaps, lotions, bath bombs, everyday creams, and body butter all infused with THC oil from Pure Bliss. The response has been tremendous. Marvina said a 93 year old woman now has more motion in her arthritic legs from using the lotion.

The bath bomb was a 250 mg pineapple-scented yellow tennis ball. Letting the hotel tub start to fill I dropped the sweet, bright yellow, powdery ball into the bath. I stood in the water to check the temperature and mixed the dissolving ball when my feet and hands tingled with a little numbness. Because of that, I decided to wait until the tub filled completely before sliding into the water. When I did the day melted away with the pleasant fragrance of pineapple.

I massaged my legs in the bath and my muscles relaxed ten times more than from a normal bath alone. I even took a bath without a bomb just to be sure it wasn’t my imagination. After about 30 minutes soaking, trying to get every second of relaxation I could muster from this golden ball from heaven, I got out of the tub. I am not as familiar with topicals and never understood their draw until now. I was completely relaxed for about an hour and half afterwards.

Be warned, I had to scrub an oily residue from the hotel tub. I also had to take a shower right after to get the golden sheen from the THC oil off my skin. Now I am excited to use the Vina Soaps that came along in the decorative box for my everyday aches and pains.  More to come on those.

Today, Marvina is proud to announce the launch of a new line of CBD only products with the same muscle relaxing properties that can be sold nation wide. You can find out more about 420 Skincare on Facebook.

Dispensary of the Week: Emerald

Emerald 7/28/17

This was the first time I had entered Emerald dispensary which is owned by Infusion and here’s what I thought.

Location: It is located in a strip mall that is somewhat unlikely location and in a less than desirable area on Dunlap avenue.

New Patient Specials: New patient specials included 20% off your first order, a free gram, and edible.

Deals: They have a patient reward system and on certain days may offer double points. Veterans and seniors get 10% off, and industry agents get a %15 discount.

Knowledgeable Staff: I learned something new. Gummies are digested sublingually meaning the THC is sprayed on in the sugar and you should start feeling it about 15 minutes after intake. I was pleasantly surprised by this since I always considered them the same as a brownie that had to be digested through the liver.

Ambiance: The inside was well laid out with an open floor plan. It was very clean and modern.

Price: Overall the prices seemed reasonable with the discount.

Selection: Since it is an Infusion dispensary, you are limited to their menu items. They cook all their own meds.

Quality of Product: Since they cook all of their own meds, I will say the edibles were consistent.

Displays: The display shelves weren’t overcrowded. Each budtender has their own station which is nice but if you want to see their selection of edibles or drinks, you have to walk through the store. Also the flower is kept in a glass case so you can’t freely view and smell it.

Safety: There was an unassuming security guard on staff.

PRO TIP: There are no forms to fill out.
